1.RBI cuts its repo rate by 25 basis points.

The Reserve Bank of India has announced a cut in the repo rate by 25 basis points which bring down to 6% from 6.25 %. This is the lowest rate since 2010 due to lower retail inflation. The decision was taken six-member Monetary Policy Committee headed by RBI Governor Urjit Patel.

2.Cabinet approves MoU to set up BRICS Agriculture Research Platform.

Government has given its ex-post facto approval for Memorandum of Understanding signed between India and other BRICS nations for set up BRICS Agriculture Research Platform (BRICS ARP).

3.Cloud Observatory at Munnar, Kerala

A high altitude cloud physics observatory has been established at Munnar, Kerala in Western Ghats, the region which is gateway of Monsoon to observe cloud and rain processes of that region.

4.MoU was signed for establishing ISARC

Memorandum of Understanding has signed between Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare (DAC & FW) and International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), Philippines for establishing the International Rice Research Institute, South Asia Regional Center (ISARC) at campus of National Seed Research and Training Center (NSRTC) in Varanasi. 

5.R Venkatesan won the Lockheed martin award.

R Venkatesan has chosen by the Marine Technology Society, USA for the prestigious 2017 Lockheed Martin Award for Ocean Science and Engineering.
