1.India’s right for exploring Polymetallic Nodules gets extension by 5 years. 

India gets extension of 5 more years for exploring Polymetallic nodules from seabed in Central Indian Ocean Basin. International Seabed Authority has allocated the 75000 sq.km to India for development activities for polymetallic nodules.

The right was approved in 23^rd session of International Seabed Authority held at Kingston, Jamaica. The 75000sq.km which was allocated is located 2000 Km off  Kanya Kumari shore .

2. Arun Jaitley chairs the 17th meeting of FSDC

Union Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley has chaired the 17^th Meeting of “Financial Stability and Development Council (FSDC) “ held in New Delhi. It was attended by Governor of RBI, Dr. Urjit R. Patel ,  Ajay Tyagi, Chairman, SEBI, T.S. Vijayan, Chairman, IRDAI and other Financial sector regulators.

3.Indian Navy commissioned Second Ship of Landing Craft Utility MK-IV. 

Indian Navy Commissioned second ship of  landing craft utility LCU Mk-IV class on Monday at Port Blair. It was indigenously designed and built by Garden Reach Shipbuilder and Engineers, Kolkata West Bengal.

4.Eastern Naval Command Golden Jubilee Maritime Seminar

Indian Navy’s Eastern Naval Command Golden Jubilee Celebration Seminar has inaugurated with the theme of “National Maritime Power-Concepts, Constituents and Catalysts” at Samudrika Auditoriyum Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

Government has announced 2017 National awards, to  recognize and reward excellence in sports.

Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna 2017 (Given to spectacular and most outstanding performance by sports person over a period of four years )

Dronacharya Awards 2017 (Given to Coaches for producing medal winners in International arena)
