 1.Successfully test fired third generation Anti-Tank Guided Missile –NAG. 
DRDO has successfully test fired third generation Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) twice in the ranges of Rajasthan.
It is successfully hit both the targets at different ranges and condition with accuracy.


2.Tamil Nadu CM Announces Godavari-Krishna-Palar Rivers linking scheme. 
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palanaisami said that to bring in a green revolution in drought hit Vellore district,  the government has taking efforts to create a scheme to link Godavari-Krishna-Palar Rivers. 

3.Mettur dam likely to open in another few weeks. 
Mettur Dam is likely to open in another few weeks for Samba season. The water level is raising gradually, officails said they will open the dam once it reached 90ft. As on Saturday the water level stood at 72.38ft and current rate of inflow will touch 90ft in another 2 weeks.

Mettur Dam full reservoir level is 120 ft and the storage capacity of water is 93.47tmc.

  
4.New eco-friendly cement LC3 contribute to reduce CO2 
The New Eco-Friendly cement Material which contribute less CO2 has been tested in Karen Scrivener’s lab at Swiss Federal Instituteof Technolgy at Lausanne, Switzerland collaboration with IIT Delhi ,Madras and TARA(Technology and Action for Rural Development)



5.Supreme Court directed authorities to make Children not to walk long to school. 
Supreme Court directed Authorities to make sure children not to walk 3 – 6km long only to attend the school. Sc Bench headed by Justice Madan B Lokur said that Right of Education upto age of 14 years is now become fundamental right under Article 21 A of the Indian Constitution and making children to walk 3 – 6 km is not the spirit of Fundamental right to education.

Bench also directed Authorities open a upper primary school in such a manner that no child has to walk more than 3 km.

About Artilce 21 A (Right to Education)
  • Artilce 21 A of Indian Constitution says that state should provide free and compulsory education to all the children of the age of 6 to 14 years.
  • This provision was added by 86th constitutional Amendment Act of 2002.
  • This provision has been described as 2nd revolution in the chapter of Citizens rights.


6.Egyptian Archaeologists unearthed Goldsmith Tomb

8.India Sri Lanka talk on bilateral issue and finalising Mattala airport project. 
India’s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Tilak Marapana has discussed crucial bilateral project to deepen the historically close and friendly relation between the two nations.
Sources said that India is urged the Sri Lankan government to quickly finalize the Mattala Airport near Hambantota, in which India is interest in Running .
