1.Somnath takes charge as New Director of VSSC. 

• S Somnath has taken charge as New Director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Thiruvananthapuram.
• He succeeds K Sivan who recently appointed as new chairman of ISRO.
• S Somnath also served as Director of Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre ,Thiruvananthapuram           

2.Reliance becomes first Indian Company to cross 6 lakh crore in Market Capitalization. 

Reliance Industries (RIL) becomes First Indian Company to cross Rs 6 lakh Crore in Market Capitalization.

3.Uttarakhand signed $120M loan agreement with World Bank to improve access to water supply. 

Government of Uttarakhand has signed $120M Loan Agreement with World Bank to improve Access to water supply to Hilly areas of Uttarakhand.

4.NIIF to invest $3B in ports and related business. 

National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) is set to invest its first investment  in ports, terminals, transportation and logistics businesses in India.

5.Thiruvananthapuram to host International Dam Safety Conference. 

International Dam Safety conference to be held at Thiruvananthapuram in 23^rd and 24^th January.
