1.India admitted to Ashgabat agreement. 
  • India has joined Ashgabat agreement on the Establishment of an International Transport and Transit Corridor between the Iran, Oman, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
  • Ashgabat Agreement signed on April 2011 between Iran, Oman Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
  • The agreement facilitates transit and transportation of goods between Central Asia and the Persian Gulf.

 2.Over 1.26 Crore accounts opened under Sukanya Samriddhi Account scheme. 
  • More than 1.26 Crore accounts opened under Sukanya Samriddhi Account Scheme.
  • The Scheme was launched in January 2015 to open accounts in the name of Girl Child across India.
  • It was launched as part of is launched as a part of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Campaign. 

3.India slips to 42nd in 2017 Global Democracy Index. 
  • India has slipped to 42nd place in 2017 Global Democracy Index.
  • It is due to rise of conservative religious ideologies and increase in vigilantism and violence against minorities.
  • India was in 32nd place last year.
  • Norway tops the list in Global Democracy Index. 

4.Ayushman Bharat Programme. 
Union Government has announced 2 major scheme in Health sector under Ayushman Bharat Programme.

Schemes are

Health and Wellness Centre- 1.5 lakh centre will provide health care including non-communicable diseases and maternal and child health services, also provides free essential drugs and diagnostic centre.

National Health Protection Scheme -  which will provide 5 lakh medical coverage to  10 crore poor and approx 50 crore vulnerable families

This will be world’s largest Government funded health care programme.

5.Galvanizing Organic Bio-Agro Resources Dhan (GOBAR-DHAN) scheme launched. 
  • Union Government has launched Galvanizing Organic Bio-Agro Resources Dhan (GOBAR-DHAN) scheme.
  • The Scheme aims  to make the villages open defecation free and improve the lives of villagers.
  • Also with this scheme it will manage and convert cattle dung and solid waste in farms to compost, bio gas and CNG. 

6.India Energy Congress 2018 held in New Delhi. 
The 7th Edition of India Energy Congress 2018 held at New Delhi with the theme of theme ‘Energy 4.0- Energy Transition towards 2030“.
