1.Foreign law firms 
  • Supreme court has said that Foreign Law firms cannot  setup offices and practice in India, but their lawyers can advice on fly in and fly out’ mode in temporary basis.
  • It also gives Bar Council of India to control over the foreign lawyers even if they are India in temporary assignments. 
2.Eradication of TB. 
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a TB Free India campaign to eradicate Tuberculosis by 2025 at Delhi End – TB Summit.

3.Newton-Bhabha Fund. 
  • India’s Department of Science and Technology along with Natural Environmnet Research Council UK has won the Newton-Bhabha Fund.
  • The fund was given for the work on Groundwater Arsenic Research in Ganga River Basin to find solution to the challenges faced in arsenic affected Ganga River Basin. 
4.2017 Kochon Prize 
  • Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) received the 2017 Kochan Prize for TB research and Development.
  • $65,000 prize will be given annually by Stop TB Partnership to individual or organisation for their contribution in eradicating TB.
  • Kochan Prize was established in 2006 in honour of founder of Chong Kun Dang Pharmaceutical Corporation and Kochon Foundation in Korea called Chong-Kun Lee.
  • He committed himself though out his career to improving access to low cost lifesaving and anti TB Drugs
5.Broadband speed.
  • Chennai Tops in Bradband speed at 32.67 Mbps in India as per latest report by Ookla.
  • It was followed by Bengaluru at 31.09 Mbps and Hyderabad with 28.93 Mbps. 
6.C-17 Globemaster: 
  • Indian Air Force has successfully landed its largest Transport aircraft C-17 Globemaster at Arunachal Pradesh’s Tuting Airfiels. 
  • It is strategically important for India to strengthen its overall operation in border state which is only 30 km away from China. 
7.Bidya Devi Bhandari: 
Bidya Devi Bhandari has re-elected as President of Nepal for 2nd Term.
She is the first Women President of Nepal.
