1.Protection of Human Rights (Amendments) Bill, 2018 

• Union Cabinet has given its nod to approval for the Protection of Human Rights (Amendments) Bill, 2018 for better protection and promotion of human rights.
• The amendment makes National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) more compliant with the Paris Principle concerning autonomy, independence, and more to effectively protect and promote Human rights.
• It will help to strengthen the Human Rights institution, which makes more effectively discharge their duties and will ensure the protection of rights relating to life, liberty, equality and dignity of the individual.

2.India, Japan, US 9^th trilateral meeting

• India, Japan, US held the 9^th Trilateral Meeting in New Delhi.
• All agreed to remain engage and strengthen the cooperation on connectivity and infrastructure development, counter-proliferation, counter-terrorism, maritime security, maritime domain awareness and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief 

3.Internet Security Threat Report 

According the latest Internet Security Threat Report said that India third most vulnerable country to cyber threats only behind US and China.

4.India becomes 2^nd largest Crude Steel manufacturer. 

• India becomes 2^nd Largest Manufacturer of Crude Steel surpassing Japan.
• China leading in manufacturing Crude steel and Japan is now in 3^rd Place. 

5.National Maritime Day – April 5 

• April 5^th is celebrated as National Maritime Day to create awareness in supporting international commerce and provide safe environment for transporting goods from one place to another.
• Indian Shipping – An Ocean of opportunity is the theme of 2018. 

6.2018 Commonwealth game 

• 2018 Commonwealth Game begins in Gold Coast, Queensland in Australia.
• It is XXI Commonwealth Game also known Gold Coast 2018.
