1.South Asia Wildlife Enforcement Network(SAWEN) 

• South Asia Wildlife Enforcement Network (SAWEN) first ever meeting in India held in Kolkata and adopted resolution to curb wildlife crime .
• SAWEN is an intergovernmental wildlife law enforcement agency launched in Bhutan in 2011.
• It aims to promote regional cooperation to combat wildlife crime.
• Member countries are India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.

2.Green Skill Development Programme. 

Union environment Ministry has launched Green Skill Development Programme with aim to provide training to 5.5 lakh workers on environment and Forest sector. 

3.Tamil Novelist Balakumaran dies 

• Tamil Novelist Balakumaran Passes away, he was well known for his novels like Mercury Pookal’ and ‘Irumbu Kuthiraigal’.
• He is recipient of Tamil Nadu Government’s Kalaimamani

4.Shashank Manhoar 

Shashank Manohar has been re-elected as chairman of the International Cricket Council .

5.First all-woman Post Office Passport Seva Kendra 

India’s first All-women Post office Passport Seva Kendra begins operations in Phagwara, Punjab.
