1.Cauvery Water Management Authority. 
  • Central Government has constituted Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA) to address the dispute in sharing Cauvery water between Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Puducherry.
  • The authority which comprises of chairman and eight members.
  • The Chairman should be either senior and eminent engineer with experience of water resource mangament or IAS officer with experience in water resource management.
  • The Authority will work and share the 404.25 tmcft of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu and 284.75 tmc ft to Karnataka , 30 tmc ft to  Kerala and 7 tmc ft to Puduchery ordered by Supreme court.

Note:
Article 262 -  deals with Adjudication of disputes relating to waters of inter State rivers or river valleys 

2.High Resolution Ensemble Prediction Systems. 
  • The Ministry of Earth Science(MoES) has commissioned 2 high resolution Ensemble Prediction system (EPS) for generating operational 10-days probabilistic forecasts of weather.
  • The New EPS is best weather prediction system in the world at present.
  • Only few other countries have this high resolution system.
  • It can forecast of severe weather events at 12 km grid scale across the country , which helps in better disaster management and better emergency response in accounts of uncertainty in weather forecast.
  • The probabilistic forecast will helps the growth in country’s economy including agriculture, water resources, renewable energy and also tourism.



3.About Gaon Bandh. 
  • Farmers from different organisation across the country called for 10- days strike called Gaon Bandh in which farmers will not go to urban areas to sell their products.
  • Strike is for a complete loan waiver, and right price of all the crops.
  •  The idea of Gaon bandh is to draw the attention of urban people about the ongoing agrarian crisis.

4.Sewa Bhoj Yojana, 
  • Central Government has introduced new scheme called Sewa Bhoj Yojana to reduce the burden of Charitable Religious Institutions who provide Food/Prasad/Langar (Community Kitchen)/Bhandara free of cost to Public or devotees without any discrimination.
  • As per the scheme it will reimburse the Central Government share of Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) and Integrated Goods and Service Tax (IGST).         


5.Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University (TNJFU). 
Tamil Nadu fisheries University has been renamed as Tamil Nadu Dr.J.Jayalalithaa fisheries Univeristy (TNJFU).
It was set up in 2012 and located in Nagapattinam.

6.Nasir-ul-Mulk 
A Former Chief Justice of Pakistan Nasir-ul-Mulk becomes the interim Prime Minister of Pakistan.
