    • India ranks 130th in the rank list of Ease of doing Business .

    • The NGRI conducted the research and reported that there is no evidence for the existence of submerged volcano off the Puducherry coast.

    • Chennai's Elliots beach road (in Besant Nagar) will host Chennai's first car free Zone day on 11th October between 6 AM and 9 AM.

  • Mission Indradhanush
    • The Second Phase of the Mission Indradhanush was launched by the Central Government.
  • Harur Government Hospital has become the fourth hospital in Tamil Nadu to get the accreditation from the Narional Accreditation Board of Hospitals and Health care Providers.
  • Srivaikundam Dam
    • The National Green Tribunal banned the sale of sand mined in the desilting of the Srvaikundam Dam.
    • Srivaikundam Dam is located on the banks of the River Thamirabarani in Thoothukudi District.
  • Ketoprofen
    • It is a drug used as an alternative to the drug Diclofenac which was banned earlier.
    • Tamil Nadu has discontinued the usage of the Ketoprofen in Erode, coimbatore and the Nilgiris after reviewing the report that showed the Ketoprofen has the same effect on Vultures as the Diclofenac did earlier.
    • It is to be now replaced with an alternative drug Meloxicam.
  • Bird Islands in Hussain Sagar
    • A group of bird Islands to be developed in the Hussain Sager which is in Hyderabad.

  • INS Kochi
    • INS Kochi is the second series of the Indian Navy Kolkata class guided missile destroyer ship first one being INS Kolkata (Launched in 2014).
    • INS Kochi was commissioned on 30th September 2015.
    • It was built indegenously by the Mazagoan Dock in Mumbai.
    • The third series of this the INS Chennai which is expected to be commissioned in 2016.
  • INS Astradharini
    • It is India's First indigenously designed and built Torpedo Launch and Recovery Vessel (TLRV).
    • It was commissioned to Indian navy at Vishahapatnam Port. 
  • IAMAI - Mobile10X
    • IAMAI - Internet And Mobile Association of India launched the 'Mobile10X' initiative which aims to increase the number of mobile app developers to 5 lakhs from its current 50,000 in five years of time period.

    • UTS - Unreserved Ticketing Services App is a mobile app launched by Indian Railway to book unreserved suburban train tickets in Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi.
