1.Indian Navy’ New Mission Based Deployment in Indian Ocean Region. 
Indian Navy has increases its patrolling in Indian Ocean region (IOR) stretching from the Persian Gulf to the Malacca Strait, with the aim to curb increasing maritime threats also to check the Chinese Dominance under its new “mission based Deployment”.


2.Tamil Nadu Government Drafts forest policy to increase Forest Cover. 
Tamil Nadu State Government has drafted the new Forest policy to increase Forest cover from current 21.76 % to at least 30% by 2025. The new drafts forest policy which includes protection of natural forest  and wildlife , conservation of eco-systems and their genetic diversity, environment stabilisation, Augmentation of water resources , enhancing forest productivity.

The New forest policy is the part of VISION TAMIL NADU 2025 strategic plan for development which is launched in 2014. Nurturing a rich heritage and preserving the ecology is one of the themes of VISION Tamil Nadu 2025 which aim to increase the Forest cover and protect it.


3.Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal gets 6 month Extension. 
Union Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation have given 6 months more to Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal (CWDT) to submit its report.


4.Migratory birds flock to Bhitarkanika National Park. 
Central Asian Origin birds started arriving Bhitarkanika National Park. Bhitarkanika National Park is located Kendrapara district of Odisha.
The Bhitarkanika National Park has Bhitarkanika Wildlife Sanctuary. Gahirmatha Marine Sanctuary and  Mangrove forest. 

5.Kerala Born Slain nun declared blessed by Vatican.
Kerala Born nun Rani Mari has been declared “Blessed” by Vatican Church. She was stabbed to death in 1995 in Madhya Pradesh. 

6.AIBA named Mary Kom as event ambassador.
The International Boxing Association (AIBA) has named Indian women Boxer M.C. Mary Kom Ambassador for the Women’s Youth World Championships to be held in Guwahati in November.
