Ayushman Bharat inagurated

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated Health and Wellness centre to mark the launch of central Government’s Ayushman Bharat, in Bijapur Chhattisgarh.
• The Main aim of Ayushman Bharat is to connect people with network of health and wellness centres to deliver primary healthcare and also covering with Insurance. 

More about AYUSHMAN Scheme:

• It is also known as National Health Protection scheme.
• Union Government has announced 2 major scheme in Health sector under Ayushman Bharat Programme.

1. Health and Wellness Centre- 1.5 lakh centre will provide health care including non-communicable diseases and maternal and child health services, also provides free essential drugs and diagnostic centre.
2. National Health Protection Scheme -  which will provide 5 lakh medical coverage to  10 crore poor and approx 50 crore vulnerable families

This scheme will subsumes RashtriyaSwasthyaBimaYojana (RSBY) and the Senior Citizen Health Insurance Scheme (SCHIS

This will be world’s largest Government funded health care programme.
