1.Joint Project between NASA and ISRO- NISAR.

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) joint project NISAR (NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar) satellite is moving towards realisation by 2021. It is the World’s most expensive Earth monitoring satellite.


2.Desi Global Positioning System-NavIC

ISRO has installed the indigenous regional positioning system named NavIC (Navigation with Indian Constellation). It consists of seven satellites in a constellation to provide Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) services in Indian mainland and surrounding region up to 1500 Km and provides services of SPS (Standard Positioning Service) and RS (Restricted Service). 

3.World’s Breastfeeding Week

World’s Breastfeeding Week is observed in the first week of August to promote breastfeeding. The Theme of 2017 is “Sustaining Breastfeeding”. 

4.Tamil Nadu Government has passed a bill to set up delimitation Commission.

Tamil Nadu Government has passed a bill to set up Delimitation commission under the chairmanship of State Election Commission. The Commission will determine the boundaries of wards in every local body of state.

5.MoU is signed to promote native shrimp species –P.Indicus.

Farmers of Tamil Nadu , Odisha, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal has signed a memorandum of Understanding with Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture (CIBA), Chennai to promote the native shrimp species – P.Indicus to revive and protect the native species.

 6.First Private Missile production facility centre inaugurated in Hyderabad.

India’s first private missile manufacturing facility inaugurated in Hyderabad. It is a joint venture between India’s Kalyani Group and Israel’s Rafael Advanced Defence Systems Ltd. It will manufacture anti-tank guided missile to Indian Army.

7.Air Marshal Hemant Narayan Bhagwat is New Air Officer-in-charge Administration of Indian Air Force.
