India, Indonesia 30th bi-lateral exercise CORPAT

India’s Naval Ship Sukanya has reached Indonesia to participate the 30th edition of CORPAT (Coordinated patrol) and 3rd bilateral exercise between both Indian Navy and Indonesian Navy.
The exercise aimed to boost maritime ties with the country’s borders the Indian ocean.

About CORPAT:
  • The Coordinated patrols (CORPAT) carrying out by  both India and Indonesian Navies in the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) twice a year since 2002.
  • During the time of CORPAT, the ships and Aircraft will carry out the patrolling on respective side of International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) to prevent illegal activities in close coordination and will share the information , also enhance mutual understanding, inter-operability between both navies.
  • The exercise will help Indian Ocean Region secure and safe for commercial shipping, international trade and legitimate marine activities.
