1.US and Israel quits from UNESCO
US and Israel has announced that its withdrawal from United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The withdrawal is mainly due to Anti-Israel bias and need for fundamental Reform.

UNESCO is the first UN Body which admitted Palestine as its full member in 2011, since then US stops funding UNESCO and now announced completely withdraw from UNESCO.  

2.India, Sri Lanka Joint military exercise-Mitra Shakti 2017. 
India and Sri Lanka Joint Military Exercise Mitra Shakti 2017 has been commenced at Aundh Military Station, Pune with the focus to counter terrorist operation.
This is the 5th India, Sri Lanka Joint military exercise. Exercise will conducted for 14 days which involve sharing and learning each other’s experience
Mitra Shakti bilateral exercise has been happening since 2013 between both India and Srilanka. 

 3.BIMSTEC Disaster Management Exercise 2017 concludes. 
The first annual BIMSTEC Disaster Management Exercise -2017, has been concluded.
BIMSTEC DMEx-2017(‘BIMSTEC Disaster Management Exercise- 2017’ ) is conducted by National Disaster Response force (NDRF) from October 10-13 with the focus on to test the Inter-Governmental Coordination efforts, Creating efforts to establish regional cooperation on disaster response among BIMSTEC nations.

It also shared the best practices on  Disaster Risk Reduction , strengthening regional response and coordination for Disaster Management among member countries

4..CM inaugurated Research and training facility at Arignar Anna Zoological park.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Palaniswami inaugurated Research and Training Facility at Arignar Anna Zoological Park, at Vandalur with an estimated cost of Rs 7.13 crore.

5.“World’s Oldest Functional Steam Engine” between Delhi Cantonment & Rewari to commence.
Indian Railways planning to start running a World’s Oldest Functional Steam Engine” between Delhi Cantonment & Rewari. It was built in 1855.
