1.Cabinet
approves Remunerative Approaches for RKVY.
Union Cabinet has approved the
extension of Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana
by renaming Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana- Remunerative
Approaches for Agriculture and Allied sector Rejuvenation (RKVY-RAFTAAR) for 3
years.
The main aim is to strengthen the farmers
effort, risk mitigation and promoting agri-business . The financial allocation
for the scheme is Rs 15,722 crore.
2.Nepenthes Khasiana(Pitcher Plant) uses CO2 to attract Prey
Researcher from Jawaharlal Nehru
Tropical Botanic Gardens and research institute(Kerala) has found a new
evidence that carnivorous plants like Nepenthes Khasiana (Indian Pitcher Plant)
has use Carbon dioxide (CO2) to attract prey and also for digestive process.
Earlier Carnivorous plants known
that it uses various techniques to capture prey like nectar, colour,
ultraviolet florescence, and smell.
3.New members for TN State human rights commission.
Tamil Nadu State
government has announced former IAS officer, A. Chittaranjan Mohandoss and
retired District Judge D. Jayachandran as new members of the State Human Rights
Commission
4.Srirangam temple wins UNESCO Award.
Sri
Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam,Trichy awraded the UNESCO Asia Pacific Award of Merit 2017 for
cultural heritage conservation. Christ Church in Mumbai and Royal Bombay Opera
house are the other monuments won the merit award in India this year.
