1.India’s Fastest Super Computer “Pratyush” unveiled in IITM Pune. 
Union Minister for Science and Technology Harsh Vardhan  unveiled India’s Fastest and First Multi-petaflops supercomputer named “Pratyush” at Pune’s Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) which is dedicated to weather and climate research.

2.Supreme Court referred decriminalizing homosexuality under Sec 377 to Larger Bench. 
Supreme Court has directed to decriminalizing homosexuality under Section 377 to larger Bench. It said that they cannot live in fear of this law which taken away their right to follow natural sexual Intercourse .  

3.BharatNet connected over one lakh Gram Panchayats (GP) . 
BharatNet has connected over lakh Gram Panchayats with high speed optical fibre network within the deadline of 31st December 2017 in their phase-1 schedule.
The project aims to give affordable high speed broad band to citizens, institution, industry in rural areas. 

4.Agreement  for sending Haj Pilgrims through sea route signed. 
Saudi Arabia has given its nod for India’s decision to send Haj Pilgrims through sea route, which drastically cut down the travel expenses.

5.Mystery Zuma mission launched by SpaceX .
SpaceX of US has launched the Zuma mission by rocket Falcon 9 from Cape Canaveral, Florida, the nature of the mission is remains mystery.

6.Golden Globe awards 2018 winners. 
The 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards 2018 held at Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, US.

  • Best Motion Picture- Drama given to movie “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”
  • Best Motion Picture -Musical or Comedy given to movie “Lady Bird”
  • Best Performance by an Actress given to  Frances McDormand for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
  • Best Performance by an Actor  given to Gary Oldman for Darkest Hour
