1.No free conversion of PIO Cards to OCI Cards from today. 

Home ministry said that there will be no free conversion of Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards to Overseas Citizen of India from January 1 2018.

2.NASA’s Parker Solar Probe to launch in 2018. 

NASA is planning to launch the Parker Solar Probe in 2018 to explore the sun’s outer atmosphere. Probe will use the Venus’s gravity during their investigation. The aim of the mission is to identify how energy and heat move through corona and also about solar winds.

3.Nyctibatrachus mewasinghi- New Night frog species found 

Scientist have found the new night frog species called Nyctibatrachus Mewasinghi from  Kozhikode’s Malabar Wildlife Sanctuary .

4.Scientist found 2 new ginger species in northeast region. 

Scientist have found 2 new ginger species, Hedychium Chingmeianum in Tuensang district of Nagaland and Caulokaempferia dinabandhuensis in Ukhrul in Manipur. Both the species are belongs to  family of Zingiberaceae.
