1.KUSUM scheme to encourage farmers for solar farming. 
Union Government has announced a Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahaabhiyan (KUSUM) scheme to encourage farmers for solar Farming.

Government announced  1.4 lakh crore fund for this Scheme for 10 years.

About KSUM Scheme:
  • This Scheme will provide 1.75 M off grid agricultural solar pumps to farmers.
  • The scheme aims to produce upto 28,250MW solar power in 5 years.
  • The excess production of solar power will bought by state electricity distribution companies, hence increase the Farmers income.
  • It also reduce the consumption of Diesel used in Pumps. 


2.World Cancer Day February 4. 
World Cancer Day is observed on February 4 to create awareness and education about the cancer.

3.Under-19 World Cup 2018. 
  • India Won Men’ Under-19 World Cup Cricket beating Australia.
  • This is India’s 4th Under-19 World Cup Title.

United Kingdom has given permission to create Britain’s first “Three Parent Babies “through mitochondrial replacement therapy.

7.Ministry of Environment launched Green Good Deeds campaign. 
Ministry of Environment launched Green Good Deeds Campaign about climate change and global warming.

8.The first International Kala Mela inaugurated. 
  • The First International Kala Mela Festival has been organised by Lalit Kala Academy inaugurated by Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu.
  • More than 800 artist across the world will take part.

9.Sudeep Lakhtakia is new DG of NSG. 
Sudeep Lakhtakia took charge as new Director General of National Security Guard.
