1.MoU with South Asian Cooperative Environment Programme (SACEP) 
  • Union Cabinet has given its nod for signing Memorandum of Understanding between India and South Asia Cooperative Environment Programme for Co-operation on the response to Oil and Chemical Pollution in the region of South Asian Seas. 
  • The main objective for the MoU is to protect and preserve the marine environment in South Asian sea by promoting closer cooperation between India and other maritime nation namely Bangladesh, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. 
              
2.Restructuring NSDF and NSDC. 
Union Cabinet has given its nod for re-structuring of National Skill Development Fund (NSDF) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to strengthen governance, implementation and monitoring framework

3.Continuation of KrishiVigyanKendras 
  • Union Cabinet has given its nod for continuation and strengthening of 669 Krishi Vigyan Kendras upto 2019-20.
  • Krishi Vigyan Kendras act as knowledge and resource centre and also technology uptake and farmers empowerment in the district to support government’s initiative of doubling farmers income. 

4.Indus Water Treaty Talk. 
  • 114th meeting of Permanent Indus commission between India and Pakistan on sharing of Indus waters held today.
  • India and Pakistan has signed Indus Water treaty in 1960 which was brokered by World Bank.
  • As per the treaty, it covers the sharing and distribution of six rivers including Indus, Beas, Ravi, Sutlej, Chenab and Jhelam.
  • 3 western rivers Indus, Jhelum and Chenab are reserved for Pakistan.
  • 3 Eastern rivers  Ravi, Sutlej and Beas reserved for India. 

5.Rashtriya Rail Sanraksha Kosh (RRSK). 
Union cabinet has allocated Rs lakh crore under Rashtriya Rail Sanraksha Kosh (RRSK) for ensuring safety in Railways.
