1.Ozone depleting CFC –II on rise 
  • Scientists say the emission of banned ozone depleting chemical are in raise also said it is secretly manufacturing the pollutants by someone against international accord.
  • Emission of Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) II has climbed 25% since 2012.
  • When a hole formed in Ozone near Antarctica, Countries are agreed to phase out the several types of ozone-depleting chemicals called chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) under 1987 Montreal Protocol.

2.WHO’s REPLACE campaign 

World Health Organisation has launched the initiative called “REPLACE” step by step plan to countries to eliminate trans-fat in foods by 2023


3.National Policy on Biofuels – 2018 
  • Union Cabinet has given its nod for new National Policy on Biofuels 2018 which allows surplus food grains production now can be used for producing Ethanol.
  • The new policy has expanded the scope of raw material for producing ethanol allowing use of Sugarcane Juice, Sugar Beet, Sweet Sorghum, Corn, Cassava, damaged food grains like wheat, broken rice, Rotten Potatoes, unfit for human consumption.
  • Farmers are not getting the appropriate price for the Food Grains during surplus production.
  • Considering this, new policy allows use of surplus food grain for production of ethanol for blending with petrol with the approval of National Biofuel Coordination Committee.
  • It helps to improve the Farmers Income, Import Reduction, Employment Generation, Waste to Wealth Creation. 

4.National Institute of Mental Health Rehabilitation

5.Integrated Centre for Crisis Management 
  • Indian President Ram Nath Kovind has inaugurated the Integrated Centre for Crisis Management at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre.
  • It helps the country to respond more effectively to chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear emergencies. 

 6.India 3rd largest solar market 
  • India has emerged as the Third Solar Market in the world in 2017 behind China and US.
  • India has doubled the solar installation in 2017 by 9.6 GW comparing to 4.3 GW installed in 2016. 

7.Indore cleanest city. 
  • Indore is cleanest City in India as per results of Swachh Survekshan 2018.
  • Indore is followed by Bhopal and Chandigarh.
  • Jharkhand becomes the best performing states of Cleanliness. 

8.First Indian Father-daughter scale Mount Everest.

9.Kami Rita.
