1.Ex SURYA KIRAN-XIII 
  • The 13th edition of India , Nepal Joint bilateral annual military Exercise named Surya Kiran-XIII ends in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand.
  • The aim of the exercise to enhance training on counter terrorism operations in both jungle & mountainous terrain and disaster management


2.Dam Safety Bill 2018 
  • Union Cabinet has given its nod for enacting Dam Safety bill 2018 which will help State and Union Territories to adopt uniform safety procedure to safeguard the reservoirs.
  • The bill seeks to establish National Dam Safety authority as a regulatory body which shall discharge function to implement the policies and recommend guidelines for the safety of the Dam.
  • It further ensure the proper surveillance, inspection, operation and maintenance of all dams and ensure its safety. 

3.Tenure Extension of OBC sub-categorisation. 
  • Union Cabinet has given its nod for extension of tenure of commission constituted to examine the sub-categorization within Other Backward Classes.
  • President appointed the four-member commission headed by Justice G Rohini constituted under the article 340 to examine the sub-categorization within Other Backward Classes.
  • It will ensure more backwards among OBC Communities to get more benefits in reservation for education and Government Jobs.


4.Composite Water Management Index. 
  • NITI Ayog has launched the Composite Water Management Index as a useful tool to assess and improve the performance of management of water resources.
  • It also said that Index is an attempt to inspire the states in efficient and optimal utilization of water, and recycling it.

5.Nikkei Asia Prize. 
  • Bindeshwar Pathak the founder of Sulabh International has honoured with Japan’s Prestigious Nikkei Asia Prize for Culture and Community’ .
  • It was honoured for his work in improving the lives of poor .
  • He is well known for low cost Toilet revolution “Sulabh Shauchalya”.
  • Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Infosys founder Narayana Moorty also won this prize in the past. 

6.Postage stamp b/w India and Vietnam.
  • Union Cabinet notified the joint release of Postage stamp between India and Vietnam with the theme of  “Ancient Architecture”.
  • The Commemorative Postage Stamps depicts with Sanchi Stupa of India and Pho Minh Pagoda of Viet Nam.



7.International Conference on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) 
International Conference on Information and Communication Technology to be held in Nepal from June 17 with the theme “Sustainable Development Goals for Smart Society”..


8.AH-64E Apache Helicopters. 
US Government has agreed to sale 6 more AH-64E Apache attack Helicopters to India.

9.Amelia Kerr. 
  • Amelia Kerr of New Zealand Women’s Cricket team has scored the highest score of 232 runs not out in history of women’s one day cricket against Ireland.
  • She broke the record set by Belinda Clark for 229 runs.
