1.Indian Warship INS Satpura and Kadmatt on Overseas deployment to East and South-East Asia

 Two Indian Naval WarShip INS Satpura and INS Kadmatt advanced on deployment to East and South-East Asia as part of India’s Act East Policy. It will visit 12 ports in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines, South Korea, Russia, Japan, and Brunei.

The deployment stresses India’s peaceful presence and harmonious relation with the East and South-East Asia countries. The visit helps to strengthen existing bonds between the countries.

 2. “North East Calling” festival. 

Union Minister Dr Jitendra Sigh inaugurated the “North East Calling” Festival today which was organised by Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region under its ‘Destination North East series’ of this year.

The purpose of the festival is to promote the art, culture, heritage, cuisine, handicrafts, business and tourism of North Eastern part of India. 

3.Hurricane “ IRMA” hits Caribbean. 

Hurricane “Irma” hits Caribbean and killing atleast 23 .
