1.Agni 5 Missile 
  • India Successfully test fired nuclear capable surface to surface long range Ballistic Missile Agni 5 from Dr. Abdul Kalam island off  Odisha Coast.
  • Agni-5 has the strike range of 5000 km.
  • The other Agni series strike range are Agni 1with 700 km, Agni 2 with 2000 km, Agni 3 with 2500 and Agni 4 with around 3500 km range. 


2.Desalination plant at Perur. 
  • Tamil Nadu government has planned to setup 400 Million Litters per day (MLD) desalination plant at Perur in East Coast Road, Kanchipuram district.
  • The plant will help to meet the drinking water requirement of Tamil Nadu.
  • The other 2 desalination plant currently in operation are Minjur with 100 MLD and Nemmeli with 100 MLD.


3.Fossil museum in Tamil Nadu. 
  • Tamil Nadu Archaeological department is setting up Fossil Museum in Ariyalur district which will be ready by July End.
  • Officials said that the fossil Museum will features various fossils, rocks and minerals from the Pre-Cambrian period, the Palaeozoic period, the Jurassic period and the Cretaceous period.


4.OP NISTAR 
  • Operation NISTAR is to evacuate 38 Indian National Stranded aftermath the cyclone Mekenu on the Yemeni island of Socotra.
  • Indian Naval Ship Sunayna has been deployed for the Operation.

5.BLUE flag Certification. 
  • Odisha’s Chandrabhaga beach on the Konark Coast will get the Asia’s first Blue Flag Certification.
  • The Tag is given to the beaches with environmental friendly, cleanliness, also equipped with amenities with international standard for the tourists.


6.Gopabandhu Sambadika Swasthya Bima Yojana: 
  • Odisha’s Government has introduced Health Insurance Scheme for Journalists called Gopabandhu Sambadika Swasthya Bima Yojana:
  • Under this scheme all the journalist will get the cover of 2 lakhs per annum. 

7.Financial Literacy Week 
  • Reserve Bank of India has launched Financial Literacy Week across the country with the theme of Customer Protection.
  • The event aims to create awareness among customers about financial products and services, good financial practices and going digital.
