GSAT 17
- It is the third communication satellite of India which was launched by the Ariane 5ECA rocket of Arianespace centre.
 - It has 40 transponders mainly for broadcasting, telecommunication and VSAT services.
 - Placed into the geosynchronous transfer orbit or GTO.
 - Launched on June 28, 2017.
 - Launched from french guiana.
 - Weight: 3477 kg
 - Operational Life: 15 years
 - The previous communication satellites launched by India are
 - 1st - GSAT-9 or South Asia Satellite on May 5, 2017.
 - 2nd - GSAT-19 on June 5, 2017.
